Precast Engineer – U.S.A (Miami)

Rizzani de Eccher S.p.A. is looking for a Precast Engineer for one of our projects in the United States of America, Miami. You will particularly enjoy working with us if you are looking for a dynamic role in an international environment with close contact with all employees.

Main responsabilities:

  • acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives;
  • checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;
  • ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications;
  • agreeing a price for materials and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project;
  • managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect;
  • liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;
  • liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws;
  • communicating with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress;
  • day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors;
  • evaluate non-conforming materials/products and to decide necessary recasting and repair;
  • planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities to meet agreed deadlines;
  • overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site;
  • preparing reports as required;
  • resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise;
  • ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Mandatory requirements:

  • knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and the company’s competitors;
  • knowledge of general construction with a good understanding of precast solutions and techniques;
  • ability to organise activities in the framework of the process managed;
  • knowledge of construction cost estimating, construction scheduling, strong understanding of construction drawings;
  • knowledge of labour costs in construction, uses, techniques and costs of materials;
    knowledge of contracts, legal issues and safety standards;
  • excellent knowledge of English and, preferably, knowledge also of other languages (Spanish, Italian and French);
  • familiarity with the legislation concerting works contracts and public works and the relevant laws;
  • university Degree in civil engineering or related field;
  • experience on similar roles within construction and engineering field/projects;
  • site experience within multicultural and international environment.
