The group was already familiar with Rizzani de Eccher through the iconic I-395 bridge project in Miami — one of our most significant works in the U.S. — and showed great interest in learning more about our work in Italy.

During their visit to the Venice Airport Rail Link site — another key infrastructure project we’re proud to be delivering — the students stood out for their diligence, technical curiosity, and well-prepared questions, particularly around project design and site operations.

They met our Project Director and HSE Manager, joined a presentation on Rizzani de Eccher and the project itself, and toured the site to see progress firsthand.

Commissioned by RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana), the project involves the design and construction of an approx. 8 km double-track railway, including 3.4 km of tunnel, directly connecting the Venice–Trieste line to Marco Polo Airport via a new underground station.

On May 28, together with our partner Besix NL and all stakeholders, we celebrated this important moment during a festive topping-out ceremony.
The Post Rotterdam is more than just a construction project — it is a tribute to a historic icon reimagined for the future. From a monumental post office to a dynamic new destination, the development includes 305 high-end apartments, luxurious hotel rooms, and unique architectural features.

We are honored to collaborate with Omnan, Amvest,  Private Buyers, all project stakeholders whose vision and support have been instrumental in bringing this ambitious project to life.

As we move forward with determination toward completion, Rizzani de Eccher reaffirms its commitment to the Dutch market through this iconic and transformative development.

This remarkable milestone is even more significant considering that the first three levels of the building were constructed below the existing ground level, presenting complex engineering and logistical challenges from the outset.
It is a testament to the commitment, coordination, and technical excellence of all teams involved.

As we move forward into the next stages of construction, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering a building that meets the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and functionality.

It has been a long and challenging journey, started in November 2023 – 43x castings with a sensational average speed rate of 7.3 days per floor – made possible only by proactive and professional cooperation between all parties involved!

A closed-circuit Wastewater treatment station for treatment of the effluent water from washing the Concrete pumps was implemented for the construction site of the new EIB Building project in Luxembourg. We are very proud that we have been awarded by BRE Global a BREEAM Innovation credit in December 2024 as no process of this nature has ever been implemented in the Construction sector.

The system consists of an initial sedimentation step followed by treatment by addition of flocculant and pH adjustment to allow agglomeration of lower diameter suspended matter for sedimentation in the next step. Finally, a filtration stage is added for filtration of even lower diameter suspended matter.

The benefits of the system are:

• Environmental by reduction of water use in the construction site and avoidance of the environmental impact of discharging highly alkaline wastewater with high solids content
• Social by resource conservation and avoidance of environmental impact to soil, air, water courses
• Economic by enhancement of concrete operations

The development and implementation of the Wastewater treatment station for the treatment of Concrete pumps washing water is a major action that demonstrates our commitment towards Sustainable development.

The project, entrusted by Anas Spa to the JV Rizzani de Eccher – Manelli Impresa – Sacaim, concerns one of the four lots into which the wider Ragusa-Catania Route intervention has been divided, with a total investment of about 222 million euros.

The 18.1-kilometer-long route has one carriageway in each direction and includes:

“Piano delle rose” viaduct, 325 meters long per carriageway

3 strategic interchanges

2 overpasses

8 underpasses

10.8 km of embankment sections

7.3 km of trench sections

Currently, we are engaged in excavations, embankments, boxwork and pile bulkheads, operating with a mix of in-house expertise and the collaboration of qualified subcontractors.

Our goal is to ensure a modern, safe and functional infrastructure capable of meeting the expectations of the local community.

As the structural framework nears topping-out, facade cladding and insulation works are steadily progressing upwards from the lower levels.

Meanwhile, at the tower’s base, another ambitious transformation is underway: the historic Post Office is being meticulously refurbished into a five-star InterContinental “Kimpton” hotel with 224 keys, alongside a stylish shopping gallery.

Once completed, these two projects—rising adjacent to the Stadhuis van Rotterdam (City Hall)— will not only enhance the cityscape but also reinforce Rotterdam’s status as one of Europe’s most dynamic and forward-looking metropolitan hubs.

Standing 155 meters tall, the Post Tower is slated for completion in 2026, which is also the expected timeline for the grand opening of the luxury hotel in the monumental Post Office building.

With its mix of heritage and modernity, this development is set to become an architectural and cultural beacon in the city center, further elevating Rotterdam’s reputation as a hub of innovation, elegance, and urban renewal.

The Post Tower is being built by a Joint Venture with Belgian contractor Besix, while the Post Monument transformation has been exclusively awarded to Rizzani de Eccher by London-based developer Omnam. The architect for these projects is the New York-based practice ODA Architecture.

The de Eccher family continues to support the Group’s revitalization.

This achievement has come after over four and half years of dedication and effort on the project by the Rizzani de Eccher design & construct team, working closely with our customer Union Investments, through COVID and more recently the market effects of the Ukraine War. The contract, worth over EUR 222 million for more than 3 years of works and to be executed by the Group of Companies led by Rizzani de Eccher SpA with its subsidiary Sacaim SpA as well as by the company Manelli, includes the modernisation of the existing section with the widening to 4 lanes along which the execution of important works of art and secondary road works is foreseen.

The strengthening of Rizzani de Eccher’s presence in the Italian market of large infrastructure works continues on behalf of the country’s major contracting authorities and under the sign of the recovery plan represented by the PNRR.

Rizzani de Eccher’s commitment to the construction of the third lane of the A4 continues, with the aim of guaranteeing greater safety along the entire roadway.

The project consists of a new double-track railway line of approximately 8 km, of which 3,4 km in tunnels, which will connect Venice-Trieste line with the Airport Marco Polo.

The new railway infrastructure, that the JV Rizzani de Eccher, Sacaim and the partner Manelli Impresa will carry out, will run alongside the motorway approaching the Airport through a tunnel, where the construction of an underground station with two tracks connected to the airport terminal is planned. A local supply chain of over than 150 subcontractors will be benefitting of this strategic project.
