<p>The works, being carried out on behalf of the Concessionario Autovie Venete SpA and the Commissario delegato per l&#8217;emergenza della mobilità concerning the A4 (Venice &#8211; Trieste section) and the Villesse &#8211; Gorizia junction, are preparatory activities for the works to widen the A4 with the third lane of the section called Lot II and specifically the execution of no. 10 highway crossing works (overpasses and related access ramps) in the section between San Donà di Piave and the Alvisopoli Junction in Sub-lot 2 and Sub-lot 3.</p>
<p>The works are in the municipalities of Noventa di Piave, San Donà di Piave, Annone Veneto and Portogruaro in the province of Venice and in the municipality of Cessalto in the province of Treviso.</p>

<p>Design and construction of the widening of M4 Motorway, as part of the first stage of the largest Australian urban road project.<br />
The M4 is an upgrade of one of the main arteries in Sydney linking the West and Southwest parts of the city with the airport and the seaport.<br />
Rizzani de Eccher, together with JV Partner Leighton, expanded the motorway to four lanes in each direction (total length of 7,5 km) and constructed two elevated structures, a 1,850 m-long viaduct and the 311,5 m-long Duck River bridge.</p>

<p>Design and construction of the third lane of the A4 highway from the new bridge over the Tagliamento River to the city of Gonars (29 km).<br />
The bridge is composed of 2 viaducts with a length of 1.500 m each, capable of accommodating three lanes, an emergency lane and a small service road for emergency vehicles. The segmental balanced cantilever bridge is able to withstand strong atmospheric events without criticalities.</p>

<h4>Description</h4>
<p>Construction of section 2 and 3 of the Western High Speed Diameter Motorway. WHSD is a major traffic artery that connects the souther part of the Saint Petersburg ring road with the regions located North-West from the city, in particular the E18 highway &#8220;Scandinavia&#8221; near Beloostrov. It has a total length of 46,6 km, with a daily car capacity estimated at 220,000 cars per day. The central part of WHSD, passing through Saint Petersburg along its western coastline, was the last construction phase.</p>
<p>Rizzani de Eccher was responsible for constructing sections 2 (bridge across the Sea Channel) and 3 (viaduct along the Belyj Island . The bridge is a double-deck structure with four lanes in each direction, located over the city&#8217;s international seaport (in an island home to approx. 5,000 residents), while the viaduct, running over the gulf of Finland, has a steel structure and was constructed by launching box girders.<br />
The exceptionally large spans and deck height, as well as the launching methods, the challenging site and the weather conditions made this project unique for Russia.</p>
