Description

The works, being carried out on behalf of the Concessionario Autovie Venete SpA and the Commissario delegato per l’emergenza della mobilità concerning the A4 (Venice – Trieste section) and the Villesse – Gorizia junction, are preparatory activities for the works to widen the A4 with the third lane of the section called Lot II and specifically the execution of no. 10 highway crossing works (overpasses and related access ramps) in the section between San Donà di Piave and the Alvisopoli Junction in Sub-lot 2 and Sub-lot 3.

The works are in the municipalities of Noventa di Piave, San Donà di Piave, Annone Veneto and Portogruaro in the province of Venice and in the municipality of Cessalto in the province of Treviso.

Design and construction of the widening of M4 Motorway, as part of the first stage of the largest Australian urban road project.
The M4 is an upgrade of one of the main arteries in Sydney linking the West and Southwest parts of the city with the airport and the seaport.
Rizzani de Eccher, together with JV Partner Leighton, expanded the motorway to four lanes in each direction (total length of 7,5 km) and constructed two elevated structures, a 1,850 m-long viaduct and the 311,5 m-long Duck River bridge.

Description

Design and construction of the third lane of the A4 highway from the new bridge over the Tagliamento River to the city of Gonars (29 km).
The bridge is composed of 2 viaducts with a length of 1.500 m each, capable of accommodating three lanes, an emergency lane and a small service road for emergency vehicles. The segmental balanced cantilever bridge is able to withstand strong atmospheric events without criticalities.

The design-build contract is to replace the existing bridge over Pensacola Bay with two new, three-lane bridges, connecting the cities of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. Each new bridge will have a length of just over three miles, about five kilometers. The total project length is 3,7 miles, about six kilometers, including the roadway approaches on each end of the bridges.

Description

Construction of the new road bypass of Craiova, Romania’s sixth largest city, in order to decongest heavy traffic and to connect Craiova to the Calafat (DN65), Bechet (DN55) and Timisoara-Bucharest (DN5) roads.
Scope of works includes the construction of a 10,5 km-long double-lane road with emergency areas, two viaducts, two fully-equipped parking lots, three roundabouts, as well as consolidation works with the most advanced techniques.

Extension works of two sections of the southern part of the Bucharest ring road, which will go from 2 to 4 lanes, for a stretch of about 15 km.

Scope of works includes the construction of two underground passages with a length of 600 m each.

Description

Detailed engineering and construction of double carriageway viaducts in the Tarsus-Mersin section of the Transanatholian Highway.

The viaducts, whose total length reaches 11 km, were built with precast prestressed simply supported beams, in-situ upper decks. The maximum span length is 39 m, while the deck is 16,35 m wide, with a total surface of 114.760 sqm. 26.000 tons of bitumen were used for the road pavement.

Modernization of State Road no. 16 Adriatica, between the junction of former State Road 495 and Ponte Bastia in the Province of Ferrara.
The lot provides for the construction of lime stabilized embankments, vertical geodrains for the acceleration of subsidence, two overpasses and two road overpasses to be built with prefabricated decks and foundations on bored piles.

The North Manama Causeway Bridge is the largest infrastructure project ever undertaken in Bahrain. It consists of a double bridge leading to the Bahrain Financial Harbour business centre and a double viaduct consisting of two 1.4 km bridges along Manama’s busiest avenue. The project also includes 2.5 km of new roads.

The project concerned the substantial upgrade of the existing King Faisal Highway, which is the main artery crossing the capital of Bahrain on a north-south axis, and the upgrade of the King Faisal Highway/Al Fateh junction into a two-level separated junction.

Description

Construction of section 2 and 3 of the Western High Speed Diameter Motorway. WHSD is a major traffic artery that connects the souther part of the Saint Petersburg ring road with the regions located North-West from the city, in particular the E18 highway “Scandinavia” near Beloostrov. It has a total length of 46,6 km, with a daily car capacity estimated at 220,000 cars per day. The central part of WHSD, passing through Saint Petersburg along its western coastline, was the last construction phase.

Rizzani de Eccher was responsible for constructing sections 2 (bridge across the Sea Channel) and 3 (viaduct along the Belyj Island . The bridge is a double-deck structure with four lanes in each direction, located over the city’s international seaport (in an island home to approx. 5,000 residents), while the viaduct, running over the gulf of Finland, has a steel structure and was constructed by launching box girders.
The exceptionally large spans and deck height, as well as the launching methods, the challenging site and the weather conditions made this project unique for Russia.
