Rizzani de Eccher will be in charge of the upcoming expansion of the\u00a0European Investment Bank (EIB) headquarters\u00a0in Luxembourg.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The EIB has awarded the contract for its new building to the Joint Venture formed by Rizzani de Eccher and Ballast Nedam International Projects (Netherlands). It follows an international open tender for the general construction of a third building within the existing EIB Campus on the Kirchberg plateau in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n

The new EIB building will be set up in Luxembourg next to the EIB\u2019s current headquarters in the Kirchberg area. It will add a further 1,500 workstations aiming to bring back employees onto a single campus currently located in decentralised offices. In a later phase, once the new building is completed, the EIB original building, the West Building, will undergo extensive renovation. The project will ensure a sustainable presence of the EIB in Luxembourg in a cost effective manner
\nThe EIB has become the\u00a0EU Climate Bank\u00a0in recent years and therefore aims to reflect its values by constructing a sustainable\u00a0Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB)\u00a0in its Luxembourg-based campus: sober, functional, efficient and ecological. The project design has already received the \u201cExcellent\u201d classification under BREEAM\u00a0(BRE Environmental Assessment Method).<\/p>\n
