Rizzani de Eccher, Italian company operating worldwide in the Construction Industry, is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join the team for an important project in Bucharest, Romania.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to contribute to a major international road construction project.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise material testing, ensuring timely preparation and submission of results to consultants.
- Manage site test schedules according to project priorities.
- Record and methodically file test results and prepare progress reports.
- Select and assess materials for specific construction needs, balancing performance, cost, and environmental considerations.
- Solve issues arising during production or construction, advising on inspection, maintenance, and repair.
- Oversee quality control throughout the construction process, monitoring plant conditions and material behavior.
- Ensure products comply with national and international quality standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues in technical support, purchasing, and project management.
- Lead and supervise materials engineering technicians and related staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in civil works, including cut and fill operations, subbase and base course preparation, priming, surface dressing, or asphalt concrete; drainage systems, culverts, stone masonry, concreting, bridges, and ancillary works (road marking and signage).
- Proven experience in managing materials laboratories for road construction projects.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, design compliance, and method statements.
- Expertise in producing technical reports, specifications, and standards.
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- High motivation, integrity, strong organizational skills, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Fluent in both English and Romanian.
Additional Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of construction quality control, health and safety, planning, and commercial management.
