OVERVIEW

The project is a re-qualification of a former stone quarry area that had been active for centuries. The project aimed to restore the natural beauty of the existing coastline and provide exclusive comfort with an everyday interaction with nature to its future inhabitants.

ENVIRONMENT

Portopiccolo is a unique residential village also from the environmental point of view. The consistent goal was to promote energy-saving and safeguarding the environment.
The attention to the environment is reflected in the selection of green roofs and hanging gardens, for which the planting of local plants was carried out.

The complex consists of over 450 residential units (apartments and villas), underground parking for over 1200 cars, 31 retail units, a 4000m² SPA complex, a luxury five-star hotel, 11 bars and restaurants, 5 swimming pools, a yacht marina with 100 boats capacity, and 18,000m² of seaside facilities.

The complexity of the work and the particular terraced structure of the site required all the know-how of the contractor, as well as a thorough study of all the best possible solutions for the logistics and employment of a significant range of equipment, such as: 20 cranes; 3 truck cranes; 1 crusher for screening of inert materials taken from the quarry itself; 1 mixing plant capable of producing 100mc/h.
