Description

JV contract with Snc Lavalin for the construction of the Canada Line of the Vancouver Light Rail Transit system – 9 km of elevated line connecting the city with its international airport and the town of Richmond.
The project consisted in the construction of about 2 km of line running on elevated embankments and 7 km of elevated line, with 36 m-long spans made of prefabricated segments, a 580 m-long Extra-dosed bridge with a main span of 180 m, and a 380 m-long balanced cantilever bridge, with 96 m-long spans.
Rizzani de Eccher, in the house engineering department, developed the detailed workshop design for the whole project, except for the Extra-dosed bridge.
