- New York, U.S.A.
- Mass Transit
- Completed: 2015
- 612 precast segments, each averaging 55 ton;
- 16 side-by-side prefabricated spans;
- once fully assembled, each weighed approx. 2,200 tons, which represents an absolute record to date in the employment of this technology.
The Manhattan West platform project is the first phase of Brookfield Properties development project – a development of a 2.6-acre platform located above an open rail yard just West of Pennsylvania station in New York City.
Rizzani de Eccher, through its subsidiaries Deal and Tensacciai built the platform over railroad tracks using post-tension precast segmental technology which is common in bridge construction, and which allowed for the construction of the office towers without disrupting the passage of trains.
