Description

Design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Padua public transport system, line SIR 1 (Pontevigodarzene – Centro Storico – Guizza).

The Padua Public Transport system is a rubber-tired guided bus line, 10.3 km long, that crosses the historical center of the city. The line runs from the northern terminal in Pontevigodarzere to the southern terminal in Via Guizza.

This means of transport is particularly suitable for moving within the center: metrobus stops are located every 300-400 meters, out-of-town users can leave their vehicles on big car parks on either of the terminals and continue travelling comfortably into the center.

The system employs a single rail for guidance while the three-section body runs on rubber tires and is capable to smoothly bend even in tight areas.
